Vanderbilt University Orchestra is joined by a host of Blair’s finest professor musicians as guest artists for this performance of Frank Martin’s Concerto for Seven Wind Instruments, Timpani, Percussion and Strings. Also Mozart’s Haffner Symphony.
Richard Floyd, State Director of Music at the University of Texas at Austin and Artistic Director of the Austin Symphonic Band, is in residence with the Vanderbilt Wind Symphony this week. He joins them as guest conductor on a program that includes Luis Serrano Alarcón’s Concertango, with Brian Utley on saxophone; Frank Ticheli’s Angels in the Architecture; and Leonard Bernstein’s Slava!
