Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute is sponsoring the Comprehensive Advanced Heart Failure Summit, a two-day open format program with emphasis on the evaluation and management of patients with end-stage heart failure.
The program will address heart transplantation and left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) implantation, technical aspects of complex valve surgeries in high-risk patients with heart failure (percutaneous options for aortic valve diseases including transfemoral, transapical, transaxillary and direct aortic TAVR, and minimally invasive mitral valve replacement), new strategies to address atrial fibrillation (common findings in patients with HF), resynchronization therapy and defibrillation management in patients with advanced heart failure.
More than 30 experts from Vanderbilt University Medical Center will convene to share the latest approaches in care and management of heart failure patients, options for aortic valve disease, surgical therapy, interventional management and novel treatments. The program has been approved for continuing education credit.
The event is presented by the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute, the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Nursing Education and the Section of Surgical Sciences, Department of Cardiac Surgery.
