Le Trombone Francais by Jeremy Wilson, trombone

The first Blair recital by Jeremy Wilson presented listeners with a musical autobiography. This time, the trombone professor turns the spotlight toward France. "The Paris Conservatoire was a breeding ground of the world's best trombonists during the mid-20th century, "  Wilson explains. "Out of that came a respectable repertoire and some of the most-played trombone solos still today." Wilson's program will steer clear of the most widely known of those pieces, focusing on works by Jean-Michel Defaye, Jacques Casterede, Jules Massenet, Eugene Bozza, and others.
