You are invited to join alumni, family and friends for a special lecture by Robert Fry, Senior Lecturer in Music History and Literature at the Blair School of Music
The Emergence of Blues in the Deep South

There will also be a resident blues band playing during cocktails.

Robert Webb Fry, a Senior Lecturer at the Blair School of Music Professor research focuses on music tourism and the role of fan culture in the production of a musical pace. His areas of expertise include music tourism, fan culture and music festivals, country music and nostalgia, music and place, hip hop, hymnody, blues, minstrelsy, and virtual tourism in "Second Life." Professor Fry teaches classes in global music, jazz, the blues, popular music, music and tourism, and southern music. He earned a BME in choral music from Henderson State University, a MM in Musicology from Ohio University, and a Ph.D. in Musicology/Ethnomusicology from Florida State University.
