Shen Teh, a poor woman, is known throughout Setzuan for her extravagant generosity, while her rich cousin, Shui Ta, is regarded as a heartless business man. Which of the two is the better person? Bertolt Brecht's timely play wittily interrogates notions of morality in a world in which success is measured by material wealth.
