Come to the Greatest Party on Earth For The Kids!
Vanderbilt University Dance Marathon is under the bigtop this year and welcomes you to join the party. For the past ten years Dance Marathon has raised funds and awareness for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, a nationally-ranked Children's Miracle Network Hospital, and had donated over $1.1 million to the kids. Come celebrate our 11th year in the Student Life Center on February 2nd from 11am - 12:06 am. February 2nd, doors open at 10 a.m., in the SLC to celebrate the largest philanthropic effort on Vanderbilt's campus. It's For The Kids! Registration is at 10 a.m. in the SLC Lobby.
The 13.1-hour event, which is supported by over 50 student and Greek organizations, will be attended by over a thousand Vanderbilt Students and Dance Marathon's Miracle Children. Miracle Children are children whose lives have been touched by Children's Hospital. Come play games, do crafts, and dance the day away with the Miracle Children as you hear their inspiring stories of hope and dedication.
Dance Marathon isn't just dancing, however, get ready for the Morale Dance! Also, bring your best costumes because we have great Theme Hours this year, including Circus, Western, Decades, Superhero, Disney, Jungle, and America. Additionally, you can compete in relay events each Theme Hour as you vie for ultimate bragging rights and giveaways. Finally, prepare yourself for a DIY photo booth. Practice your poses and line up a photographer as we will provide costumes and you will take your own photos. If you want to just hang out and be entertained, no fear, this year features incredible performers and entertainment on the stage in the SLC Ballroom including Vanderbilt's own Melodores, a high-energy Zumba lesson, and the Chris Winward Band (http://chriswinward.com/Welcome.html).
