McTyeire Fireside Chat: Russia's adoption ban: uncertain year ahead

Rebecca McBride (Ph.D. candidate, Vanderbilt University, Political Science, May 2013) will talk about Russia's response to the adoption by the U.S. Congress of the so called "Magnitsky Act", which bans some Russian officials from entering the United States. On January 1, 2013, a new law banning U.S citizens from adopting Russian orphans came into force. It is titled 'The Anti-Magnitsky Law.' Rebecca will discuss the implications of the Russian adoption ban for Russia's vulnerable children as well as for US citizens who are in the process of adopting Russian children.
