Vanderbilt University Speakers Committee and VenUe Present: Neil deGrasse Tyson
The man who killed Pluto is coming to campus-- we all grew up learning there were 9 planets but now, thanks largely to world-renowned astrophysicist, Neil deGrasse Tyson, there are only 8.
A Bronx born astrophysicist, Tyson is often cited as our countryís expert on space. He is a best selling author and frequent TV personality (Stephen Colbert has called Tyson his "all time favorite guest"). Additionally, he is the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium, and an American Museum of Natural History research associate. Tyson received his BA in Physics from Harvard, and his PhD in astrophysics from Columbia University. He is also the recipient of NASAís highest civilian award, the Distinguished Public Service Medal.
His wit and humor are infectious and his passion and enthusiasm for science and space are unparalleled: please join us for what will truly be a stellar event.
