Programs for Talented Youth Vanderbilt Summer Academy (VSA)
Vanderbilt University offers intensive one-, two-, and three-week summer residential programs for academically talented rising 8th-12th grade students. VSA provides a highly stimulating and challenging intellectual environment while allowing students to have lots of fun and to form lasting friendships. Each student enrolls in one course for 6 hours of instruction per day. The classes, taught by Vanderbilt faculty and scholars, are interdisciplinary and include topics such as nanotechnology, bioethics, constitutional law and more. Students reside on campus under the supervision of residential staff and enjoy a full program of social and recreational activities.
Dates:
Session I (rising 8th graders): June 7-12, 2009
Session II (rising 9th & 10th graders): June 14-27, 2009
Session III (rising 10th-12th graders): July 5-25, 2009
Qualification: SAT, PSAT, or ACT score report (see web site for more information)
Cost: Costs include course as well as room and board.Limited need-based financial aid available.
