John Updike, 1932-2009 was one of the most prolific writers in American literature, he wrote over 60 books and more than 600 articles and poems for magazines. He was first published by the New Yorker in 1958 and continued to be a contributor to that magazine for the next 50 years. The Robert Stempfel Jr. Collection of John Updike materials will be on exhibit until August. See first editions of classic Updike books and ephemeral items like poetry broadsides and small press editions of his stories created in limited numbers and signed by the author
