AN INDONESIAN FOLK TALE
Work created by the "Painting the Tale" artists of Pacesetters, Inc.
With Merritt Ireland and Marcia Donovan, Artists-in-Residence

May 26 - September 26

The exhibit features work inspired by the Indonesian story "Kanchil Waits for the End of the World." Kanchil is a mouse deer who manages to trick a wild boar, a tiger, a monkey, an orangutan, and an elephant into thinking that the end of the world is imminent.

Visit the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Art Web site, http://www.kc.vanderbilt.edu/kennedy/community/art.html, for other exhibit information (past and present)

Pacesetters, Inc., is a nonprofit agency with five centers providing services to persons with disabilities. Pacesetters' "Painting the Tale" art program is led by visual artist Merritt Ireland and storyteller Marcia Donovan as artists-in-residence. "Painting the Tale" began in 2000 with a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission. Since 2007, the program has been completely supported by Pacesetters, Inc.
