MAUVAIS SANG (BAD BLOOD)
Belcourt Theatre
Lynn Ramey will be the faculty facilitator for the post-screening discussion.
"In the near future, two aging thieves develop a plan to steal a newly devised serum that combats an AIDS-like disease infecting only casual lovers so they can sell it on the black market. When they recruit the help of a disaffected youth named Alex, the situation heads south. Carax plays with the conventions of crime films masterfully, filling the picture with humorous asides, stunning photography, bravura action sequences, and thrilling musical interludes, resulting a beautiful, exciting, and romantic film that is a wholly different and extremely invigorating experience. Starring Denis Lavant, Michel Piccoli and Juliette Binoche. Dir. Leos Carax, France, 1986, 105m, NR, 35mm"
