Girls And Science Summer Camp (GAS) - We are no longer accepting applications for GAS Camp.
Dates
Session 1: June 9-13, 2008 (for current 7th graders)
Session 2: June 16-20, 2008 (for current 8th graders)
Application deadline: June 6, 2008
Times: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Cost: $125 for a one-week session
Limited financial aid is available.
The Girls and Science (GAS) Camp is a week-long day camp geared towards girls who are interested in science. The goals of the GAS Camp are to engage girls in science activities, to foster confidence in science achievement, and to encourage girls' enrollment in high school science courses. The camp is held in the biosciences laboratories at Vanderbilt and staffed by middle and high school teachers. Campers participate in doing hands-on science activities and interact with women in science-related careers.

Boys Exploring Science and Technology (BEST) Summer Camp

Session 1: June 23-27, 2008
Session 2: July 7-11, 2008
Both sessions have the same activities.
Application deadline: June 6, 2008
Times: 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Cost: $125 for a one-week session
Limited financial aid is available.
This is a one-week day camp for current 7th and 8th grade (as of the 2007-08 school year) boys conducted in the bioscience labs at Vanderbilt. Campers will have opportunities to perform fun hands-on science activities and observe interesting demonstrations. This program is designed to encourage boys' interest in science and science-related activities.
